Dear Parents and Students,

Midterms: Midterm reports will go home today. Call your child’s teacher if you have any concerns.

Softball: Softball practice this week will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:30, at West Side Field. Wednesday’s practice may be at Sunset Ball Fields if we can get parents to help with transportation.

Softball Tournament: The STORM Softball Team did quite well for themselves this weekend. They took 2nd place in our tournament. They beat Algoma 9-5, Egg Harbor 7-2, Two Rivers 8-1, Montpelier 9-2 and lost 12-2 in the championship game to Montello.
Our league tournament this weekend is in Kewaunee. Our team plays Friday at 6:20 against Peshtigo. They will play again on Saturday at either 8:00 or 10:40.

Track: We will have practice every Monday and Thursday from 2:45-4:00.

Splash: The 3rd-4th graders will participate in the YMCAs SPLASH Program Monday through Thursday in the afternoons.

The Color Factory: A mini-musical called the “Color Factory” will be presented by the Kindergarten through 4th graders on Friday, May 9th, beginning at 6:00 PM. This will be followed by a piano recital involving Mrs. Thoma’s piano students. If other K-4 LES students who are taking music lessons of some form would like to take part in the recital, please contact Mrs. Thoma. Everyone is invited to attend these performances.

Dear Parents and Students,

Health Department: Last week I included a notice from the Health Department on new immunization requirements. As with all immunizations, parents may sign a waiver stating they are not immunizing their child for reasons of health, religious, or personal conviction reasons.

Shoes for the Shoeless: We thank everyone who brought in old shoes last week. We hope that someone gets some more use out of them.

Art at the Library: Students from St. Peters will have artwork displayed at the Sturgeon Bay Public Library. The artwork goes up on Monday, April 21, and will stay up for two weeks.

Softball: Softball practice this week will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:30, at West Side Field. Wednesday’s practice may be at Sunset Ball Fields if we can get parents to help with transportation.

Softball Tournament: We are hosting a softball tournament this Saturday at Sunset Park. There will be nine teams from eight schools participating. St. Peters STORM will play at 8:30, 9:40, 12:00, 2:20, and possibly at 3:30. We need your help to make the tournament run smoothly. There is a sign up sheet near the school entrance for donating items to be used at the tournament. We also need a lot of help selling concessions, grilling, preparing fields, etc. Please call Todd Maas (746-8684) if you are able to help.

Track: Practice starts today. We will have practice every Monday and Thursday from 2:45-4:00.

Thank You: Another thank you goes out to Denise Davison and Dean Delfosse for spearheading the Anniversary celebration. We’d also like to thank Dean and Bryan Wodack from Woody’s Signs for the great sign in front of the church.
25th Anniversary: Sunday, April 13, is the celebration for St Peters Lutheran School's 25th Anniversary. Please get your reservations in for the luncheon following the 10:05 service by this Wednesday or call Denise Davison at 746-0282. Grades K-4 will sing at the 10:05 service.

MLHS Academic Fair: The results of the Academic fair are in. Our Math team took 8th place. Our Academic team took 5th place consolation. Individual ribbons in Spelling went to Betsy Bader (1st), Emily Blaha (1st), Brenna Thoma (1st), and Erin Miller (2nd). Individual ribbons for Forensics went to Emily Blaha (1st-perfect), Gilly Davison (1st-perfect), Lauren Davison (1st), Betsy Bader (1st), Erin Miller (1st), Brenna Thoma (2nd). Congratulations, students! And thanks to Mr. Wilson and Mr. Thoma for their guidance.

Hot Lunch News: Morning milk and snack fees were due Monday, March 21. Please get them in as soon as possible. Joni will be going to a food show on Tuesday, April 18. Mrs. Dee Chaudoir will be serving lunch. Thank you, Mrs. Chaudoir!

Softball: Softball practice this week will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:30, at West Side Field.

Track: We are looking for a track coach or coaches. If you are interested, contact Mr. Wilson.

Camp Bird: Camp Bird information was distributed today. For three weeks in the summer, Camp Bird near Crivitz, WI, becomes a Lutheran Youth Encampment for 5th-8th grade students. Most of our students who attend, go the second week that is offered. If you care to learn more about Camp Bird before you send your child, please come talk to me. I’ve become somewhat of a permanent fixture up there as lifeguard. Do not mail registration forms before May 6, but don’t wait much longer than that either.

Dear Parents and Students,

Holy Week: Holy Week devotions begin tonight at 6:00 PM and continue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maundy Thursday (a look at Jesus’ command to serve one another) service is this Thursday at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM. Good Friday Jesus suffering and death) service is at 1:00 PM. Easter services (Jesus resurrection) are 6:00, 8:00, and 10:00 AM on Sunday.

No School: School will dismiss on Thursday at about 11:00 after the Maundy Thursday church service. School will resume on Wednesday, March 26. I will be away from school this Wednesday and Thursday and next week Wednesday. There will be no newsletter next week. Have a great Easter. Praise and thank God for sending Jesus to pay for all our sins on the cross and for rising again so we have a home in heaven.

Busing: Just a reminder that Southern Door is providing special busing this week. We need to know which Sturgeon Bay district students will need busing on Wednesday, March 26-Friday, March 28.

Life With God: The “Life With God” Bible Information class begins the first week of April. This is an eight week class. You can either attend Wednesday evenings at 6:30 (starting April 2) or Saturday mornings at 9:00 (starting April 5). This will be your last chance this school year to fulfill your nonmember obligations. It is an excellent class for everyone, member and nonmember alike. Learn what the Bible says regarding Creation, Law & Gospel, Baptism, Holy Communion, etc. Invite a friend to attend with you.

Hot Lunch News: Morning milk fees are due March 31 for the last quarter. Notices will be sent home this Wednesday. Please be prompt with payment.

3rd Quarter: The 3rd quarter grading period ends Friday, March 28. Report cards will be issued Monday, March 31.

Dear Parents and Students,

Drive-Thru: Now that we are better at not parking in the circular drive, we need work on the drive-thru. We will try to remember to put cones in that area to make it possible for two vehicles to get through at a time. Therefore if one vehicle is picking up children, another can get through to park. Please do not park or wait in the drive-thru area. Thank you for your consideration of others.

Lent: The last Lent service is this Wednesday at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM. Holy Week devotions are next week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:00 PM.

Parent Help Needed: The LES Committee is looking for five parents to help supervise the school lunch room on Tuesday, March 18th. We would like to have a special lunch for the teachers on that day in celebration of the school’s 25th anniversary and we need people to supervise while the teachers are in a different room. Call Denise Davison at 746-0282 if you can help.

Pizzas: Pizza making day is this Thursday, March 13. We’ll begin pizza assembly at 8:00 AM and continue until they are done. Give Todd Maas a call at 746-8684 if you can give us some time to help make the pizzas.

Palm Sunday: Our school children and LCD students will sing with the choir on Palm Sunday, March 16th, at both the 7:30 and 10:05 services. Please have your children in the church basement by 7:15.

Easter Break: We will dismiss school after the Maundy Thursday church service (11:00) on March 20. School will resume Wednesday, March 26.

Busing: Just a reminder that Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door do not have school this Friday. Southern Door begins their spring break on Friday, March 14 and resumes school on Monday, March 24. Sturgeon Bay also has Friday, March 14 off, but their spring break begins Friday, March 21 and school resumes for them on Monday, March 31.

Dear Parents and Students,

Lent: Lent services continue on Wednesdays (3/5, 3/12) at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM.

Hot Lunch News: Due to a funeral on Tuesday, lunch will be changed to hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips, and fruit cups.

Parent Help Needed: The LES Committee is looking for five parents to help supervise the school lunch room on Tuesday, March 18th. We would like to have a special lunch for the teachers on that day in celebration of the school’s 25th anniversary and we need people to supervise while the teachers are in a different room. Kindergarten & Preschool Open House: We are having an Open House for prospective preschool and kindergarten students and their parents tomorrow night from 4:30-6:30. There is some information located downstairs in the hallway by the Preschool and Kindergarten rooms.

Basketball: The B team had a good tournament this weekend. They lost two very close games and won one as well. Thank you to Mr. Scott Steebs for all the time and energy you put into coaching these boys. You set good examples for them to follow.
All uniforms should be turned in by the end of the week.

Pizzas: This is your last week for bringing in your pizza orders. Pizza making day is Thursday, March 13. Extra forms are available if you have other family members who are interested. Give Todd Maas a call at 746-8684 if you can give us some time to help make the pizzas.

Joint Rehearsal: There is a joint practice for our Palm Sunday song on Sunday, March 9th, at 9:30 between services. The children will sing with the choir on Palm Sunday, March 16th, at both the 7:30 and 10:05 services.

Dear Parents and Students,

Lent: Lent services continue on Wednesdays (2/27, 3/5, 3/12) at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM.

Midterm Reports: Due to my forgetfulness, our midterm reports will be issued tomorrow. Take time to go over them with your child and discuss how things are going. Call your child’s teacher with any concerns about his/her progress.

Kindergarten & Preschool Open House: We are having an Open House for prospective preschool and kindergarten students and their parents on Tuesday, March 4th, from 4:30-6:30. There is some information located downstairs in the hallway by the Preschool and Kindergarten rooms.

Basketball: The boys B team ended up taken 3rd at the Southern Door tournament beating Two Rivers, 28-14. The also took 4th at the St. Paul, Algoma tournament that was rescheduled from last weekend. They lost to Algoma Elementary. There is no practice today, but the B team will practice on Wednesday until 4:00. They will then leave for Apple Valley Lanes for a party (see separate note).
The B teams last tournament is this Saturday in Kewaunee. They play at 9:20 vs. Denmark, 12:40 vs. Kewaunee, and 3:10 vs. Holy Rosary.

Team Pictures: The boys A basketball team and the Cheerleaders will have their team pictures taken this Thursday at 2:00. They will turn in their uniforms after pictures.

Pizzas: Don’t forget to bring your pizza orders in by Saturday, March 8. Pizza making day is Thursday, March 13. Extra forms are available if you have other family members who are interested. Give Todd Maas a call at 746-8684 if you can give us some time to help make the pizzas.

Southern Door: Southern Door does not have school this Friday. They will run a special route, but we need to know who will be riding the bus that day. Please fill out the form and return it tomorrow.

Academic Fair: Take a few minutes this weekend either before or after church to look at the students’ work on display in the hallways. Your children work hard at their assignments and projects. This is an opportunity to recognize those efforts.
